
Roosmarijn Vandenbroucke is professor at UGent and VIB, Belgium and heads the Barriers in Inflammation lab. Her research focusses on the importance of the barriers between blood and brain in maintaining our brain healthy, using both mouse model of neurological disorders and patient samples. Via her membership of the Young Academy she actively contributed to the Thinkers’ Programme on ‘Reproducibility and replicability in science’ and to the initiation of the Belgian Reproducibility Network aiming at bringing more attention to the importance of reproducibility in biomedical research based on her own experiences.
